The best way is to use the "One Click Add Link" method. It will
automatically fill in the title and url for the page. To use this method,
go to the Control Center
and follow the instructions there.
The next is to click on the category titles on your homepage. That would
bring you to the add link form pre-selected to the correct category.
Next, you can click on the "Add" at the top of your page.
For either way, you can select either
an existing category to put the link in, or
create a new category.
(these options are both on the add link form).
Click on the "Add New Link >>>>>" when you have filled in the form.
You can also import your bookmarks into myHq.
How do I edit links? There are 2 ways to access the edit link form.
Click on the "Edit" link on the top navigation bar. Select the
category of links you want to edit.
On your homepage, click on the title of your categories.
That would bring you to the add link form with the category preselected.
Look at the bottom and you should see the "edit the links in this category"
option. Click on that, and you will get to the edit links form.
At this point,
If you want to change the title or url, just overwrite the information.
Make sure that "Update all links" is selected.
Then "Apply Changes >>>>>"
How do I move links? At the edit form (look above at "How do I edit links?").
Select the links you want to move.
(Select the checkbox at left of the link)
Select the Move selected links option.
Choose the appropriate category you want to move the links to.
Finally "Apply Changes >>>>>"
How do I copy links? At the edit form (look above at "How do I edit links?").
Select the links you want to move.
(Select the checkbox at left of the link)
Select the Copy selected links option.
Choose the appropriate category you want to copy the links to.
Finally "Apply Changes >>>>>"
How do I arrange links? First, decide how you want to arrange your links.
There are 2 ways
Alphabetically
Numerically (allows control over the position of individual links)
If you arrange Alphabetically, the links are automatically arranged.
If you arrange Numerically, you can change the individual link
positions at the edit links form. The links are arranged, well, numerically.
How do I delete links? At the edit form (look above at "How do I edit links?").
Select the links you want to delete by checking the box on the left
Select the "Delete selected links" option
Finally "Apply Changes >>>>>"
How do I import bookmarks/favorites? For Netscape & Opera users,
Go to the Control Center > Import Bookmarks
Select Netscape
Browse to the appropriate file. (Netscape:bookmarks.htm, Opera: '.adr')
Import Bookmarks.
For IE (and AOL) Users.
IE 3/4: Export your bookmarks using the favtool.exe program to convert your bookmarks into the appropriate Netscape format.
IE 5/6: Export your bookmarks (steps below) and then follow the steps for Netscape.
File > Import and Export > Next >
Export Favorites : Next >
Select the folders : Next >
Export to a File or Address : Enter a file name you'll remember : Next >
Finish.
Now, follow the stpes for Netscape, instead of the bookmarks.htm file, look for the file you just created.
Can I place images on my page? Yes... sort off. You can link to an image but not upload an image. How?
Place the url to the image in the title field (http://www.domain.com/image.gif) and check the 'image link' box. You cannot upload an image to myHq,
it still has to be hosted externally. Why? Well,
among other things, image hosting get's very expensive...
